The whale blubber tool primarily refers to the boarding knife, which is a sharp, double-edged blade used to cut blubber from a whale carcass. 1800s, whale flensing/blubber-cutting knife or spade, in the shape of a whale's tail.
The entire tool measures 14-3/4" long by 9" wide, and it's in truly good, sturdy, as-found condition, Assume is from an American ship as found in newly-released England. The wooden handle is missing, the Stamped message:

Rust/age is such that a complete accurate reading is not possible.
